FSU is acutely aware of the need for computer security. The
Computer Incident Response Team (CSIRT) and the Security and
Ethics Subcommittee were established to plan for and respond
to computer security incidents and vulnerabilities, publish
security alerts, research the University’s computer security
needs, and develop information and training to help faculty,
staff and students enhance FSU’s teaching, learning and
research mission.
Team representatives are from diverse technical and professional
backgrounds, and include staff from the Office of Technology
Integration, User Services Tech Support, Web Development, Networking,
Systems, Office of the Inspector General, various University
faculty and the FSU Police. These representatives meet and collaborate
regularly, bringing a wealth of experiences and ideas to the
security issues facing the University and the greater Tallahassee
community.
