Computing security and related issues are well developed at FSU
and extend outside the University to the local Tallahassee community,
the state and the nation. FSU faculty are involved in security
and terrorism scholarship and research, and our medical school
focuses on safety and security at its Center for Terrorism and
Public Health. In addition FSU was designated as a National Center
of Excellence by the National Security Agency, and is part of
a select group of schools that offers graduate studies in computer
security.
FSU has collaborated and consulted with state and national officials,
such as the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the National
Security Agency and Educause on various information security issues.
A host of computer security organizations exist in the nation
that provide information to the public or to their members with
information about security vulnerabilities and protection mechanisms.
Those listed here may assist FSU and the extended community to
learn and continue secure practices. |
